WHAT ARE YOUR OFFICE HOURS?
Our church office is open Monday - Friday from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.
WHAT DENOMINATION IS YOUR CHURCH AFFILIATED WITH?
Mt. Vernon, though autonomous, is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Louisiana Baptist Convention, and the Northeast Louisiana Baptist Association. We support the SBC Cooperative Program through our financial contributions and teach the doctrinal statements of the Baptist Faith and Message.
WHAT ARE YOUR WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?
Our worship services are blended, combining hymns and modern praise and worship. Every service features a time of worship through music followed by a time of preaching and teaching from God's word. The focus of every service is simply to draw near to God. Occasionally video illustrations, testimonies, and drama presentations are used to illustrate the day's message.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Some of our members and regular attenders enjoy dressing up for church while many prefer to wear jeans. Most of our members dress somewhere in the middle, but there is no dress expectation at Mt. Vernon. If you are more comfortable in a tie, feel free to wear one. If you prefer jeans, do not hesitate to wear them. We are more concerned with getting to know you than your attire.
WHERE DO MY CHILDREN GO?
There are Sunday School classes for all ages every Sunday at 9 A.M. Children in the preschool age group have classes in the Love Building, which is the middle brick building facing the road. Elementary, middle, and high school students have classes in the Joy Building, located just behind the Love Building. A nursery is provided for ages 3 and under during all of our worship services. Children's Church is held during our morning worship services for Ages 4 - Kindergarten. Children's Church attenders go to the Worship Center and are dismissed during the morning Welcome to go with the Children's Church teachers to their designated area.
