To the Congregation of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church,

We hope you are well. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic and is beginning to present itself as a local threat, we, the staff at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, are discussing and planning the actions we are likely to pursue within the upcoming weeks. Let it be known that we are diligently pursuing God’s guidance and are trusting in His sovereign hand to lead and protect us during this time.

While considering the safety of our church and community, we have decided to cancel all scheduled church operations through April 1st, effective immediately. We are abiding by Presidential and CDC suggestions and regulations. By no means are we acting out of fear, but care for the flock God has entrusted us with. Listed below, are items we want to make you aware of as we move forward.

1. Church Operations As mentioned above, operations at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church are cancelled for the next two weeks (this includes Wednesday nights and Sunday

services). The church office and staff will continue to operate during regular office hours, 8AM-4PM, Monday through Thursday, and 8AM-2PM on Friday. Updates will be released via letter, e-mail, website, and social media.
2. Worship Services Moving forward, audio and visual recordings of the full Sunday morning service will be posted to Facebook and our website, mvbcwm.com , at normal scheduled service times.
3. Giving We encourage you to continue giving during this time. Online: via Debit Card, Electronic Funds Transfer or Credit Card at mvbcwm.com. Mail: To 215 Mt. Vernon Church Rd, West Monroe, LA 71292. Drop Off: Gifts can be hand delivered to the church office during office hours.
With all of this being said, we want to remind you that God is in control. We will keep you updated as necessary. Until then, we ask for you to continue to pray alongside us, not only for our church and community, but for the nation and world as a whole. Pray for the global church, that we all would be good stewards of the Gospel of Jesus Christ during this time.

In Christ,

Pastor Randy Burdeaux and Mt. Vernon Staff
